Maharashtra State Board schools – and the many coaching classes that prepare students for SSC and HSC – run frequent unit tests, semester exams and practice papers. Setting each one by hand takes time that teachers rarely have. A Maharashtra Board question paper generator builds a chapter-wise paper from the syllabus in minutes, with marks that add up and an answer key ready for checking.

This guide shows how to do that with ExamBee, the free question paper generator from the PaperBee team, built in Pune.

Who uses it

School teachers

Set unit tests after each chapter and full semester papers at term end, with your school's name and logo in the header. Because every paper is saved to My Papers, you can duplicate last year's paper and update it in a minute.

Coaching classes

Weekly tests for SSC and HSC batches are where a generator saves the most time. Pick the chapters covered that week, generate, brand it with your institute's name, and print or share it as images on the batch WhatsApp group.

Parents and students

Students revising for exams can create a practice paper on just the chapters they're studying, attempt it, and check their answers with the answer key.

Subject-by-subject ideas for state board papers

Mathematics

Mix MCQs on concepts with short answers for single-step problems and long answers for multi-step problems. For SSC practice, include a section of longer problems so students get used to writing full solutions within the time limit.

Science

Use one-word and fill-in-the-blank items for definitions and units, true/false items for common misconceptions, and short and long answers for reasons, processes and labelled diagrams.

Social Science

History, Geography, Civics and Economics each suit different questions: dates and terms as one-word answers, causes and effects as short answers, and explanations or comparisons as long answers. Topic-level selection lets you build a paper on, say, only the freedom movement or only rivers and climate.

English and Computer Science

Grammar and vocabulary work well as objective items, with short answers for comprehension. In Computer Science, combine MCQs on terms with short answers that ask students to explain how something works.

Tips for state board papers

  • Keep chapter selection in step with your school's teaching plan so no test includes untaught chapters.
  • Use Mixed difficulty for semester exams and Medium–Hard for SSC/HSC practice.
  • Share papers as PNG images for students who study on their phones.
  • Download the Excel version if you want to keep a question record or reuse questions later.
